  • Prednisone and dry eyes

I've been prescribed prednisone for a severe allergic(?) reaction. WOW. I could not go to sleep until 6 am today. I should have cleaned house or something. This stuff really revved me up. Ugh. I know it's a common side effect, but I've taken it before and didn't notice that.

In the meantime, I'm wondering what the prednisone will do to/for my dry eyes. The doctor asked me how the drug affected my dry eyes last time I took it, about 3 months ago. I don't remember. But, I was not looking for any changes at that time. I'll see what happens with dry eye in the meantime. Could be allergic reaction to cosmetics. I'll see how the prednisone does on my eyes.

Don't trust any refractive surgeon with YOUR eyes.

    Hi,

I am new here and need to post an intro but, wanted to respond to your post.
Prednisone ramps me up too. I think it helps my dry eyes....just like the steriod eye drops.

I hope you are feeling better soon!

Be careful with the Prednisone... apparently my brother got a cataract from using it.
