  • Extreme "seasonality" in my dry-eye problems

    Hi,
My dry-eye (plus blepharitis) problems started after having Lasik surgery 3 years ago. I leave in Greece. My case is what most of you would call a mild case, but still lifestyle changing for me. My case has a special characteristic that I have not seen to such extent from other people, namely, its very seasonal. I leave in a warm country like Greece. From October-April I nearly (or should I say completely) forget that I have dry eyes. I don’t use any eye-drops and my eyes feel great. The last couple of years, during this season I thought I was cured, but then May comes and through September my eyes feel terrible again. I use eye-drops several times a day, the Rice baggy, humidifiers, panoptx and try to keep away from air-conditioning.

I just feel that it’s so weird that my eye-problem is so seasonal, and was wondering if that is the case with anybody else and whether a specific treatment could benefit me the most. thanks.

You have probably an allergy to pollen, have you been tested for that?

No I haven't, but I have suspected that an allergy of some kind may be involved in my case. Would and optician be able to detemine if I have the allergy, or should I go directly to an allergy specialist? Thanks.
