  • Should I have TRUE Test?

I have talked to my dermatologist about having allergy testing. I don't think allergies are the main cause of my dry eye, but I am wondering if there are ingredients in products I use, including eye drops, that could be aggravating or irritating my eyes and making them worse. She is willing to do the TRUE test, but after talking to their allergy specialist, doesn't think it will be helpful.

My eye doc doesn't think it's allergies, although a few years ago a different doc said I had red bumps which was a sign of allergy. In other allergy testing I tested positive for dust mites, mold and fall weeds.

I have often noticed my eyes seem to get irritated after using some facial products, like if I use under eye concealer with SPF. Sometimes my eyes seem fine at home, then I put my makeup on (Bare Minerals) and go out and they become irritated and burn. I thought it was just because they were so dry and anything I used on my face was irritating to my eyes. I recently started wondering if the Bare Minerals might be irritating after reading about an ingredient in them that people are allergic to. I have stopped using it and am trying another product.

I'm wondering if it seems logical to have this test or if I am just looking for something to blame this on? But if I don't have it, I may always wonder what I would have learned from it.
