okay okay i did lipiflow yesterday: the procedure in itself was pretty incomfortable for my left eye ( i feel like the stuff was not well placed on my eyes even if the doc said it was okay and i did not feel any pulsation in my left eye's lower eyelid)

after lipiflow i feel a bit normal for like 10 mn then burning restarted and i could not stand the Wind outside .

today was my first day of school, pretty awful eyewise.

so im pretty anxious about the results considering how hopefull and enthousiastic i was about this.

please those who had lipilow, tell me when u got better, need hope/help because i have tried everything now.

I wouldn't worry too much about increased pain in the first few days after treatment as I had that and got pretty worried but it soon eased up. Do contact the clinic where you had it done though if it is really worrying you as they may give some advice. I was told to place a cold flannel over my eyes and keep my eyes closed as much as possible! Lipiflow didn't work well for me but probably because I am also aqueous deficient. I really hope you see an improvement over the next days/ weeks.

OKay quick report. so far so bad, my eyes are always burning like fire, every day is just a freaking hell, a real struggle for me. its been 7 days since Lipiflow and nothing good right now, very very worried/depressed about it.
my mom called the clinic of Lipiflow and she said 7 days is not enough to have any improvement... hmm weird, considering how many people feel better after lipiflow

trying to appear as normal as possible to others, to not stay alone, to socialize but really difficult considering that people are always outside (any Wind is very very bad for me) or worse(for my eyes) smoking.
i will receive my airrage tomorrow will see about this.
hoping for a mircle right now...

Nicolas, have you got a decent regular Ophthalmologist on the job? That makes a huge difference to how we feel, we've found, even in flareup. What are you doing to relieve the burning and keep the eye surface good? Good luck with Wiley X Air Rage ~ works for Tom Cruise when he fixes his Mission Impossible. They have to help. We just got new classic black prescription Raybans with original dark green lens and they are mighty fine, though not wraparound. We are feeling for you here in London - what a * deal. Have you been swabbed/examined for microbial keratitis?

If possible, ask about autologous serum eyedrops. It is far from a cure, if only because it does not solve the problem of MGD. It's annoying, because it requires some care and you can not carry it everywhere. But it has helped me a lot.

just went to the doctor, she said Doctan DOAN had sent her a report of my visit: basically i had severe blepharitis+conjonctivitis pappilaris+sensitive eye+maybe allergic stuff and that he was trying on me Castor oïl ( i tried 2 day and it only burned and made my eyes redder...)
but she told me to retry it for a week to see if it do something so i will try tonight...

Hey Nicolas ~ which doctor is telling you to retry the burning castor oil eyedrop? is she an Ophthalmologist? does Dr Doan know what happened when you tried it? I would ask the doctors for copies of all letters they write about you, it's important and useful to have them.

Just so you know castor oil used to burn my eyes and make them red too. Now my eyes are used to it, and it helps with the inflammation. I use Restasis (which has castor oil) and refresh endura which also contains it. It took a few weeks to adjust.

let us know how it goes!

o2 days on castor oïl, its burns and make my eyes drier but i will go on.... very depressed today, mainly because of he Wilex Airrage, i just look like an alien, poeple look at me like wtf?
for information its Wilex Airrage with clear lenses + headband because otherwise they don't protect me. so its already difficult to wear those glasses but with the headband its an other dimension : ur face is crushed by the glasses, and the headband on your hair only add more weirdness. very very difficult to deal with, i only wear them on the road to school, but i wear them off when im close to school because i just don't want people to see me like that.
i walk fast and head down but really tired of this sh**

will post a picture for u to realize...

by the way 13 days since lipiflow, and nothing, will call the doc tomoroww.

okay okay some good news (finally): just cameback from a specialist of ocular surface. he was nice, knowledgeable+ give me hope:

he said that clinically speaking, my eyes are not so bad : mild blepharitis, and TBUT of 10 sec ( i was shocked). he also said that i have allergic signs.

butr considering how sensitive are my eyes he made my a Cofoncal Microscopy and turned out that although my cornea's nerves are normal, there are a proeminent amount of inflammatory cells (basically my corneas is hypersensitive).
so since i tried ciclo and many other treatments, he told me that i will gave me serum drop to alleviate the inflammation and because its very well tolerated. will get that in a month. ALso said that if it doesn't work, will consider sclera lense.

so a month is long, but now i got hope and i will wait

btw, now i don't give a fuc* about how bad i look with wilex, just walk head down and thats it (prefer this to Wind in my eyes)

I hear you re: the glasses. I call them my raccoon glasses and am very self conscious in them. The ones with dark lenses on the other hand look fine because you can't see that dark ring and I wear them constantly with my head up even lol. Why don't you get some dark ones?...F/G

It is really strange, but what bothers me most is that it does not give me a complete comfort (it doesn't block all the wind). Regarding the aesthetic part, I have overcome. At the beginning, I avoided using it, but not anymore. After all, the people who supported me at my worst moments did not bother with the googles. Also, to my surprise, there are people who think the googles give me a sophisticated/fashion look. Unfortunately, I do not agree. I try to put in my mind that they are only temporary.
Another problem: the way to wash the original foam, considering the msg posted by Bakunin in a different thread: “But unfortunately the replaceable cartridges you can buy when the foam gets old aren't as thick as the originals, so they don't fit as well".

Serum drops can be done quick from our own blood. I don’t know the reason to wait one month.
