  • Which obamacare plan should a dry eye sufferer choose?

I'm currently shopping around for a new health care plan, and I'm concerned about which type of plan (bronze, silver, gold, platinum) is most likely to reimburse me for costs associated with dry eye treatment. Since many dry eye tests and procedures are not covered, it's often left up to the insurance company to decide if they want to cover any portion of a claim. And sometimes the doctors themselves are not in network, adding to the problem.

Aside from the difference in deductibles, copays, and percentages of covered costs, does anyone know if the level of plan itself would make any difference in whether or not an insurance company would decide to cover certain tests or proceedures? It seem logical that it would make a difference, but I'm trying to understand if that's really the way it works. Anyone here in the know?
