  • Audiobooks!!!

I now listen to audiobooks! Thank you SAAG! I used to love to read all the time. It took some adjustments, but I can deal with the audiobooks now. I just need some good titles. Any suggestions for some good reads?!
    Thanks!

So glad you are enjoying them! Like you say, it takes some adjustments, but at least you can get back some of the pleasure you used to enjoy from reading

As for good reads (err, "listens" haha), depends on what you're into. I liked audible.com because I could click on the preview button to make sure the narrator's style of speaking was satisfactory (I'm too impatient for slow talkers haha)... then I'd go to amazon.com to check out reviews on the print book to see if the storyline was likely to be decent... after that, just depends on your tastes! Maybe check the best-seller lists for a start? Or look up books by authors that you used to enjoy in print? (you'll be amazed at how many of them have audiobook versions of their stuff - it's super!)

Here are a bunch I've listened to... but like I said, my tastes and yours may differ

    Birmingham, John
    Without Warning

    Bronson, Po and Merryman, Ashley
    NurtureShock

    Collins, Suzanne

    Hirsi Ali, Ayaan
    Infidel

    Kress, Nancy

    Beggars and Choosers (Beggars Trilogy)

    Levinson, Jay Conrad
    Guerilla Marketing

    Lessing, Doris
The Good Terrorist (didn’t finish it… I think I read the paper version already)

    McCammon, Robert
    The Wolf’s Hour

    Niven, Larry
    Lucifer’s Hammer

    Patterson, James
    Against Medical Advice
    Lifeguard

@ SAAG- Thank you for the list. I like a lot of the authors you listed. BTW, I almost wrote "listens" instead of reads.

@soaps- I hope the eye pain settles. Thank you for the info!
