Does anyone know which color of tint is best to protect light-sensitive, red eyes? Does the color matter?

There is a tint called FL-41 conventionally used for certain kinds of photophobia... however I am not sure what if anything it does for photophobia attributable to corneal disease as opposed to retinal.

I'd find a really good optician to talk it over with and try on some different kinds.

I find that the amber tint of night vision goggles is most helpful for me. I wear the goggles day and night when my photophobia is especially bothersome, and with a cataract on top of the DES that is becoming most of the time.
Every day with DES is like a box of chocolates...You never know what you're going to get.

Sorta off topic, but rose tinted lenses help prevent migraines triggered by florescent lights.
Plus ,You can wear them indoors, and not look like a drug addict.
