  • Help for work involving long hours of driving. Car Humidifiers?

    Hi guys,

I won't bore you with the details of my story, if you want to know that you can check out my post on the introductions thread.

I'm trying to return to my job as a Sales Rep after sudden onset of severe dry eye and photophobia. I have basically no basal tear production (1mm then 0 on the Schrimers Test). My job requires me to be driving for 2-3.5hours a day, sometimes longer, with breaks to visit brightly lit, air conditioned retail stores. I work in Western Australia, which is a very dry climate, with temperatures in summer reaching 43C (110F) so airconditioning in the car is a must.

I am looking into getting some form of moisture chamber eye wear and am experimenting with various eye drops and ointments and supplements and diet changes. Has anyone got any other ideas as to how to manage my return to work? I was looking at in car humidifiers, has anyone had any experience with these?

    Thanks a bunch,

    Jo
