  • Forced Air Heat Exacerbating My Eyes

I moved into a new place with forced air heat December 2. I started having a problem with my eyes about 2 weeks ago so didn't think there was a connection.

Got up this morning and turned the heat on and with 1/2 hour my poor eyes. So I turned it off. (I live in So. Cal so I can do this and not totally freeze).

Well, the heat is absolutely contributing to the dryness but it wasn't the cause. And as the morning goes on the itching is getting worse and the dryness but that could be from using the computer.

But for now, no heat. I'd rather be cold then be miserable with horrible dry eyes so I'm bundled up in sweats and blankets

So hopefully the swim goggles I bought will fit under my glasses so I can turn my heat on again or I'll I have to buy a new space heater.

In my case I think was the oversized air conditioner in my workplace, streaming air directly in my face for about six months, the main cause of my DES. And i can't manage to get out the vicious circle of inflammantion and tear film instability.

I didn't know there could be a delayed reaction. I remember when I moved in here, my friend who helped me unpack took my small room heater since she said I didn't need it anymore.

I am much better today without the heater on but still dry. I amped up the amount of Omega-3 I am taking and I should get my swim goggles soon. I found a set of 3, one clear, one grey and one blue so that might really help since it is way to bright in here because of sunlights.

I still have not seen a specialist. I will next month if I can't get stabilized. I did it once so hope I can get back to where I was before this latest thing.

      Horrible isn't it?
