Air purifier

Ok, so i've given up trying to find a machine that is both a HEPA air purifier and warm/cool humidifier in one.

But I am still looking for an air purifier, and I have no idea what I should be looking for.

Has an air purifier helped anyone out there with allergies, and if so, can you please recommend one? They are expensive, so I don't want to buy one blindly. Thanks!

We got an electronic dust filter installed in our home as part of the heat filter. It works well. Also, simply getting rid of carpets and indoor pets is huge.
