  • New fashionable moisture chambers-Ziena Oasis- I tried some on today

    hey
just wanted to let everyone know i tried the new Ziena Oasis on at my corneal specialist in Louisville- I was so glad they had them!! I shouldn't be surprised as I went to the best doctor ever-Dr. Foulks-he helped me so much but now has retired from seeing patients. Anyway... These frames are spectacular!!!

I had some moisture chambers made by wiley x-well they never fit right and my doctor today explained why-luckily my local optometrist where i got them made it allowing me to return them for a refund since i cannot wear them comfortably.

So now I am waiting to see what other frames they get that are similiar to the Ziena Oasis as the optician said he has requested several other styles.... They were so much more comfortable than the foam type and they look like my regular shades i wear-just like my nicole miller frames..

Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in for the ladies.. also, the large frame with the silicone acting as a barrier didn't bother my face-and the large frame covered all of my eyes.. i will keep everybody posted as i plan on ordering some within a month or two!!!

The current one comes in three different colors (I think the tortoise is absolutely beautiful... brown fade is nice too though) but no other framestyles yet with the silicone shield. They are working on a smaller ladies model and I believe a men's model too at this point. The technology is really exceptional and I am sure it won't be too long before we see more like this.

$250 for the frame, if you're putting an Rx lens in it. More details here in the shop or at this link on the manufacturer's page.

Hey Rebecca-i believe I tried the Tortoise ones on.. it is beautiful.. it is prob the one i will go with.. The optician is requesting the other 3 colors so i guess i will wait about 4 weeks and see what they look like-it is a big investment (found out the lab in Louisville doesn't take my insurance) but they are giving me 20% off and with my face being heart shaped and high cheekbones this frame fit me so much better than the wiley x and or 7eye that i tried... I also have large eyes so i think anyone with a large eye area or longer face may love this frame..

i will let everyone know when i get it..

Anxious to see how Ziena-Oasis work for you

I have 7 eyes, and they fit me well, but do fog up. In the car, I just slide them down my nose a little till they clear. Don't know how they'll work outside when I work up a sweat. But truly, for driving, they have been a Godsend for me. And walking to and from my car in the frigid and windy air they have been incredible. But do let me know.

My Ziena Oasis glasses arrived couple of days ago. It was such a relief that they were almost as great as I had hoped. Huge investment - import taxes added another third of the price of the classes, plus postal fee... But I really need something airtight that would protect my eyes from dust. They protect the eyes very well, the silicone is soft and smooth and doesn't leave ugly marks on my face. And they are not ugly and goggly, they look like normal sunglasses. The only issue is that they tend to fall off my nose and I have to let them adjusted by an optician. I picked Brown fade and I am happy with the color.

Oooh I am sooo glad to hear that. It really is such a gamble ordering something that costly from overseas.

Re: falling off your nose... Can you also add some nose pads on it? I have one or two other customers who have done this and found it helped a lot to keep them in place.

                Hi Rebecca,
Do you know if they are still working on a smaller ladies model that is similar to the Ziena Oasis? I ordered the Ziena Oasis last year but they were so big on my face there wasn't a good seal.

So far as I know. I'll be talking to them tomorrow and I'll try to remember to ask. We sure need a smaller one. I like Ziena a lot but it is fitting a relatively small percentage of ladies.
