  • Custom moisture chambers in Toronto

I have located a source for moisture chamber glasses in Toronto. At the Yorkville Eye Clinic, there is an optician who makes the custom moisture chambers.

They look so good! You can barley tell that there is something there. I am looking forward to getting mine made!

Okay, first Saag gets some awesome custom moisture chambers from Winnipeg, now there's some good ones in Toronto. What's up with Canada? I can't find anyone who makes them here in the Pacific NW of the USA. It may be more challenging in Canada to get restasis, but it sounds like it may be easier to find some custom moisture chambers!

        Hi tearless2,

It was a stoke of complete luck! I was at the dry eye doctor's office and the optician there happened to make them. She knew I was from out of town and was able to fit me in the next day!

I would suggest you contact the company "Eagle vision", they supply the plastic that the optician's use. Ask the company for names of opticians who are ordering this plastic. They should be able to put you in touch with someone in the US, maybe even someone near you. An alternate route would be to find a dry eye specialist and ask their office for reccomendations.

        Best of luck to you.

These sound great! Can you put progressive lenses in them? I was told that I needed really big lenses in order to put progressives in. I bought the Zienna, which are very large, 70s looking. I love having the progressives in them, but they slide down my nose, causing more difficulty seeing, and of course makes them look even bigger.

              Hi mgshutterbug!

The custom moisture chambers are made around your existing regular glasses. It helps if they are slightly large and have a wider temple. The plastic around the glasses is clear, thin and cut around your eye area. They key will be to find an optician who makes them.

              Best of luck!

                  Hi there,

I had moisture chamber glasses made in August 2011 at the Yorkville eye clinic. It takes a couple of days. I would call and ask to speak with the optician who makes them. . . sorry I can't remember her name.

                    Hi Hopeful2,

What is the cost like to make these custom moisture chamber glasses? And, are they as effective as the ones say with the foam seal? Also, can you please post a picture? Thanks so much in advance.
