warm compresses in am or pm?? increased dryness from them?

it seems that when i do my warm compress my left eye gets drier for hours after-its the eye i had cautery done .. not sure if there is a correlation..i had it done in august.
anyway, if i do a compress as night its not as bad

just curious if anyone did compresses at night and had better luck than in the morning? thanks!
