  • Tacrolimus... I better prepare myself for it!

I've just been told by some of you and an eye doctor I saw today at the emergency room to stop putting all the medication I've been using as it looked like they had caused a great deal of redness and irritation on my lids. I also developed keratitis punctata, but I'm going to be traveling to Japan in the hopes I can receive good medical treatment there.

I've been told the don't use cyclosporine and it is likely they'll put me on "Tacrolimus" which I understand not to have been approved by the FDA in the States. I'd like to know what's known about this drug. I've heard many different things.

Here's a link to a discussion about it here on Dry Eye Zone:

Keep in mind that this is a very old thread!

Anyone know of a doctor in the US who prescribes this? Thanks.
