  • plug advice please

    Hi!

    Need some advice please.
I previously had 4 permanent umbrella plugs with no problems. then i developed an infection in one duct
i have since been getting 1 temp plug weekly for about 2 months and its not pleasant as it hurts and makes my eyes red. but better than dryness pain . they r meant to last3 months but only last 3 days
Permanent plugs increase infection risk i am told as they allow a small amount of flow. Catery doesn't but Im not keen. will it make my eye more red? And wat if i improve and then have overflow ?

Any other plugs which fully block ducts ?

My nose is going to fall out from all these plug insertions.

    Thanks for any advice /thoughts.

I had the uppers cauterized, left the lowers open 'just incase'. It was not pleasant but it was for me a one shot thing. I recommend at least cauterizing the offender and leaving the rest until they become a problem as they may never offend. I can't imagine having to traipse into the Dr. every week I would far sooner suffer for a couple of days and just get it over with...F/G

        Farmgirl,

Can you tell me how much improvement you noticed when you had your uppers cauterized? I have been sitting in limbo a long time here because I don't know whether to cauterize my upper or lower, and docs have given me conflicting advice. (Or, do you have plugs in your lowers?) Thanks in advance.
