Lotemax question

How often and for how long are people using Lotemax drops? My doc just prescribed it to me after inserting the collagen plugs to try. I have to take the drops 4 times a day for the first week and then 2 times a day for a week. I assume that will be all since the doc said if I go to the silicone plugs I will have to start on Restasis probably for the rest of my life. That scares me.

Anyway - just curious as to how others are using Lotemax.

Why did your doc say that if you got silicone plugs he would have to put you on restasis forever?

Lotemax will reduce the inflammation quickly on your ocular surface. Studies have shown with a dose of steroids and plugs 80% of the patients are better. I would try the plugs and a good artificial tear first before committing to Restasis forever.

I used it four times a day for the first month, then cut back to twice a day which I have been on for the last 3 months or so.
