  • Japan approves dry-eye drug from Inspire, Santen

    Everyone see this?

    http://www.bizjournals.com/triangle/...2/daily71.html

"Clinical studies in Japan found that Diquas eased dry-eye symptoms by promoting the secretion of mucin and water. The drug also was found to be well tolerated in patients.
The drug that passed muster in Japan is different from Prolacria in two major ways, said Inspire spokeswoman Cara Amoroso. No. 1, Prolacria was a 2 percent diquafosol solution; Diquas is 3 percent. No. 2: Patients in the last Prolacria trial received four doses a day; patients in the Japanese tests used the eye drops six times a day"

Well, we are from the other side of the globe so we don't get the benefit of trying this. I don't get why different countries have different regulations for drugs when we are all of the same kind. Everything is about $$$$.

If anyone tries this, let us know how you made out.

    Thanks

You will be able to get it from a so-called international pharmacy.
For example, Restasis is not approved in Europe but Europeans can still get it from such a pharmacy.

By the way, thank you very much Rhad for your high quality posts!

Thank you RDAC for this update; diquafosol is something that I will definitely try to get hold of.
