  • Top 5 DONT'S ..!!!...

After 12 months of this, i'm now finally realising what is a must to avoid; What are yours?

(1).... Indoor Heating, or air conditioning. I leave the house till it is switched off...
(2)... Driving... Eyes can feel ok, but then driving and discomfort starts everytime.
(3)... Computer use... Half an hour is ok. More than that, pain starts.
(4)... NOT taking an 'eye break' 45 mins lie down in afternoon.. aka a micro sleep ...
(5)... Just staying indoors all day. Air quality is much worse than outdoors...

    1) Don't go outside without moisture chamber glasses.
    2) Don't go to the mall without moisture chamber glasses.
    3) Don't go to work without moisture chamber glasses.
    4) Don't walk around the house too much without moisture chamber glasses, unless it's really humid indoors that day...
    5) DO take off moisture chamber glasses when sleeping.

Sorry... I should have given a better list... but what can I way, I really do depend on my moisture chambers a LOT for comfort!

I wish someone could help. I ordered onion goggles and WILEY X glasses and none of them fit me. There was a huge gap between my bridge and the glasses.( I have a high nose but flat forehead) I am using computer all day in an air conditioning office.

Humidfier won't help. I brought in a steamer the other day, it seemed to work but the whole office was bubbling with steam.

My boss finally puts me in an air-tight office with all the air vents sealed (turned off). It helped but going to meetings is still a problem.

Is there anywhere that do custom-made protective glasses??

1.Don't just see one ophth for years on end if the eyes are not responding to his/her treatment. Get 2nd opinion or more.
        2. Don't ignore any vague, questionable, suggestions the doc makes regarding other conditions/specialists to consider. Follow up.
        3. Don't expose eyes, face or hands to formaldehyde in any form ever (in bedding, shampoo, cleansers, throw pillows, clothing, etc.)
        4. Don't use any eye drop on a daily basis if it contains BAK. Find alternatives or get drops compounded.
        5. Don't give up on finding the ideal moisturizing drops for your eyes no matter now frustrating the search. It's worth it.

          Hi Sunshineincalgary,
I looked into having glasses made but because of my high+rx it is not available. However you might have more luck. I have bought some diving goggles to use in the house over my glasses. But if you go to 7 eye ziena oasis, they are in calif. they do prescription glasses of plain glass or you can try see-fit.net. I hope this helps. I never received a reply from see-fit, so I assumed they could not take my rx, however there is a number on the ziena that you can call and they call back!
          Hope this helps.

You can buy the glasses from See-fit and have the prescription filled locally. . . that is what I did. The company was very slow to process my order. It took about five weeks to get the glasses. I also found that the plastic sleeves really interfered with my peripheral vision.

I also use moisture chamber glasses all waking hrs. I wear Zienna by 7 eyes, but now, I found from posts by Rebecca that 7 eye has sold out to another company. There are questions as to whether that company will continue with the glasses. I sure hope that ones like Zienna with silicone shield are manufactured by somebody. I can't survive without them. I'd start my own company if I had money. Since I have none....ah well, it was an idea!

Hi Sunshine: So sorry to hear that even the Wiley's didn't fit. I know what she is talking about because where my Wileys fit like a glove there was a gap of about 1/2 inch across her forehead. The shape of her forehead is really flat. Have you considered trying motorcycle goggles or swimmers goggles for in your office at least where you are not in public. Sunshine has a real problem. Maybe the other brands suggested might work, keep looking....F/G

Thank you everyone for your information. I've not been checking messages lately as the strong air conditioning in the office drives me crazy!! Before May, I was doing fine (MANAGEABLE). Now everyday becomes a challenge. But I'm not giving up yet. And I'll try out new ideas until it works. (perhaps 7 eyes)

Ironically, I'm now looking forward to winter when they turn off the air condition
