  • Improve after 5 years

    Hi All,

Just want to share my story after 5 years. It is not completely cure but definitely huge improvement

    Post 81
    http://www.dryeyezone.com/talk/forum...s-there-a-cure

In the last 5 years, my schrimmer has been improving

    2011 : 1mm (L), 4mm (R) <topical anesthetic> .
    2013 : 3mm (L), 4mm (R) <topical anesthetic>
    2014 : 7mm (L), 9mm (R) <topical anesthetic>
    2015 : 8mm (L), 12mm (R) <topical anesthetic>

In the last 5 years, receipe must be working

1.) Morning uses BelphaGel to wash my earlips
2.) Morning 1 drop of Restasis
    3.) Morning Eye Compress
    4.) Morning 2 x BioTears capsules
5.) Afternoon 1 drop of BionTears
6.) Late Afternoon 1 drop of Bion Tears
7.) Night 1 drop of Restasis
    8.) After dinner 2 x BioTears capsules
9.) Before bed, apply Duratears gel

    Now, my receipe is only

    1.) Daily 4 x Refresh Plus
    2.) Morning 2 x BioTears capsules
    3.) After dinner 2 x BioTears capsules
4.) Before bed, apply Duratears gel

I am very lucky that my missus has been with me during the most severe DES period. Giving me moral support.

I share my thoughts and pre-empt my missus of my situation. Turned out, she bravely told me 'if you ever turned blind, so long you don't mind 3 simple meals a day, with a simple lifestyle, i shall be able to support you for the rest of your life'.

To all the members fighting DES - never give up hope. Be optimistic and never look back at Lasik.

    Cheers
    Nitro

How much minutes did you do the warm compresses for?

        Hi,

There used to be an article from www.agingeye.net where it says

Bicarbonate containing artificial tears have been shown to promote healing in severe dry eyes. Available bicarbonate containing tears include : Bion Tears, Murine Tears.

I have been using Bion Tears for almost 4years before switching to ordinary refresh plus.

Biotears capsules definitely parts another role. I felt my eyes are drier if i am eating Thera tears capsules.

Oh I see. Because I asked my optholmologist about doing it for just 5 mins and he said that it's not going to do anything in that amount of time. Glad it actually worked for you, maybe I should do that for a couple of days.
