  • Caffeine can help produce more tears - medical study

I found this story on caffeine and tear production and that it can increase it dramatically. It looks like an interesting study. I looked her on the blog for another post but didn't find one. Could be helpful for some. I hate getting addicted to any substance but if a steady dose with have lasting power, that would be awesome.

Bottom line: Taking caffeine can increase your tear production substantially. Especially if you have a certain gene trait. Article here:

Does anyone have experience with this? I know when I get anxious my tears flow better. May be some truth here.

If only I could tolerate the stuff. Caffeine sends me into annoying, way-too-chatty territory. Caffeine without the crazy side effects? Sure. : )

I actually used to be a regular coffee drinker, but not a heavy one. I didn't notice anything with my dry eye symptoms, unfortunately.
