  • Wet Heat

Like I imagine a lot of people on here, I use wet heat to relieve symptoms. I usually use a very hot moist towel with no pressure against my eyes. It clears up my vision for awhile.

Here's an interesting product. I don't know if it's been on the forum or not ThermaIon.

Amazon has over 400 reviews of the product.

I use a fresh new cotton ball with warm water for each eye. It's not very efficient because the cotton ball has to be re-wet with warm water frequently to keep it warm. The advantage for me is the clean cotton ball has greatly reduced the number of eye infections - as a matter of fact I haven't had to use antibiotic ointment for over a year. Just for me - I can't risk even using a clean wash cloth - and I used to boil the washcloth before each treatment - how I could get eye infections from a boiled wash cloth seems impossible - but it happened. Noted I would like to use a product more efficient like the mask referenced - but I think it would be a great risk for me.

It's always a good idea to clean your eyelids with eye lid wipes before applying any contact type of heat. People who tend to have frequent eye infections can put a clean paper towel between the moist heat source and their eyes. It doesn't impact the effectiveness of the moist heat much.

ThermaIon has a nicer moist heat eye wrap than the first one I referenced.
