  • Here's my dry-eye bumper sticker

Here's my amateur dry-eye bumper sticker - dredged up inspiration over these past days.

I still have various components of it in my files, and will keep them awhile, in case anyone here is graphically talented to improve it.

Nice, unfortunately it took me a moment to get it, so maybe not obvious enough?
prevention is better than cure, but not for eyes?

Well, as I stated in O.P. if your graphically talented to improve it, by all means your welcome to do so. Any idea-persons here? NAH...
P.S. Also, for some reason these forums blew up my original size - not sure why. I'm no expert.

I'm not arty. I'm quite good with ideas but this is a difficult one, a complex concept to get across briefly.

How about a picture of a desert+shape of an eye (simple shape), can't think of good alternative wording yet.

Junior and I would love: 'Dryeyetalk' teardrop-shape stress ball, rubber awareness bracelet, enamel pinbadge (all cheap). We went to a fantastic cornea day doc/patient seminar at Moorfields and couldn't find the other Dryeyetalk members (3 there, only found 1) Going to Rare Disease day in London next week, feeling proud, but got no badge! Maybe bumper sticker really has to be a blue teardrop, same as Dryeyezone logo.

But will people know what the teardrop represents at a glance? I like the stress ball though, I could do with one .

Additional ideas - Rebecca could sell tshirts on this website? A few members could get together and write a book?

Heh, this is taking me back to the old days, when I used to have a DryEyeZone booth at some medical conferences and got lots of doodads made to hand out to drs who stopped in (this is back when I still had money leftover from my finance days). I had a little computer shaped stress ball with the DEZ logo that said BLINK MORE or something like that, and I can't even remember what all other gizmos. Coffee mugs, etc. My personal alltime favorite - a disgusting sticky eyeball about the size of a ping pong ball in a giant plastic flip-top contact lens case that said something like MY DRY EYE on top. Used to get them made at branders.com but they don't have them anymore.

Anyway I'm open to ideas If you guys would find something like this useful for increasing awareness, keep posting ideas. As long as the upfront cost is manageable, I'm willing to get stuff made and sell it at cost in the dryeyeshop.

Hey, that's the idea! justbob, you're on the right "deserted" track!

I really think that bumper stickers can help raise awareness.

I think you can get a certain type of laser-printer sheet meant just for printing stickers. I may have read somewhere that Staples has such sheets. There may be a YouTube video explaining it.

Then just post the bumper stickers on a dedicated web page.
Tell people where in Staples (or wherever) to buy such printer-sticker sheets.
                  Voila.

P.S. If I get a chance one of these weeks or months, I may try giving another shot at my above bumper pic. I'd actually cranked out other bumper stickers as well, also on a medical theme - even if not exactly of interest to dry-eyers. But if anyone's interested, here's a mini-version (at least it had been mini, until the attachment feature of this forum blew them up & hilited every imperfection!

Here's ideas I came up with (in the rough - not yet via graphics).
Then if someone like Dr.Latkany (or whoever) wants to print a bunch of stickers and send them to INNOVATIVE MARKETERS such as the creator of G-Midifier, and ask if he'd agree to include these stickers within every purchased GMidifier packaging, it could help raise publicity.
But not just G-Midifer - also T-Shirts - or anything else that's innovative, and somehow relates to eye health (or simply "health"
I don't mean certain eye drops companies - they may be too intertwined with the deadbeat system.

                    So whaddayasay? Any other ideas?

                    STICKER-ONE:

                    ARE DESERTS DRY, GRITTY, RED-HOT
                    ...........................AND SENSITIVE? N'YET!
ARE SOME EYES ALL OF THE ABOVE? YOU BET!

[PICTURE OF A ROW OF 4 OR 6 EYES]

                    DOCTORS - DON'T DESERT US!

                    STICKER-TWO:

                    DRY EYE............................................... SENSITIVE EYE

[PIC. OF EYE STATING SANDSTORM]......[PIC OF EYE STATING WILDFIRE]

                    ................NEWS ALERT: EYE DOCTORS FLEE
                    SANDSTORMS........................................ AND WILDFIRES

OK, for one of my ideas:
Where there's left eye stating DROUGHT DRY
And the right eye stating: WILDFIRE SENSITIVE

                      EYE SPECIALISTS OPHTH OUT
                      DUE TO SEVERE ELEMENTS

Which of the attached combo's suits best?
