I am very sorry your friend is having such difficulties but I am afraid this is not the place to seek help. We do not offer medical advice of any kind. This is a discussion board for patients with dry eye syndrome, which is a disease of the surface of the eye.

The only way to safely get diagnosis and treatment of an eye disease is through qualified physicians. If your friend is having trouble getting a diagnosis, they should be referred to a specialist. Once you have some kind of name or information about the disease or even symptoms, there are many excellent websites from which you can learn a great deal. Some of my favorites are St. Luke's and agingeye.net.
