  • Blepharitis/Meibomian and Infection Came Out of the Blue Last Summer

Last July my eyes started giving me fits. For a long time hard contact lens wearer (58 years) this was a first. Went to the eye doctor after trying to heal thyself in November and was diagnosed with an eye infection and the blepharitis and meibomian. I was prescribed a steroid too get rid of the infection and directed to use a warm face towel and moistening eyedrops twice daily. Went back last month and was prescribed Xiidra which I have been taking for just over a month. I feel the xiidra is slowly helping and I am also using the rice/stocking/microwave deal for warming the eyes. I received yesterday an order placed through Amazon of Clinitas Soothe which works very well for me so far.
I was down to only being able to wear the contacts for only 2 hours a day and now can go as long as 8 to 10 hours with an eyelid scrub after about 4 to 5 hours of wear. I do see an improvement but it's slow. Reading some of the other posts, my problem is not as bad as others for sure.
