  • cyclosporine in the UK ... another question!

    Hi Everyone,

    2 questions:
    1. Just wondering if anyone has tried the optimone (?) ointment normally prescribed by vets for dogs?! Its looking like a good option for me as I'm getting desperate to find some supply of cyclosporine in the UK. At the moment I get it made up for me by a pharmacy in Brussels ...

    2. The other alterative is to get them to post it to me but it needs to stay cool. Has anyone had the eyedrops posted with success from one country to another? I mean the ones made by a chemist ....?

    Many thanks in advance!

    Hi Bohdie

I can only really respond to question number 1.

You will know that Optimmune is a white petrolatum based ointment for ophthalmic use, containing 0.2% cyclosporin.

I had a dreadful time with it but maybe it was because of the petrolatum base.

On the matter of question 2; have you asked the Brussels pharmacy if they ever send stuff in the post to the UK? People who buy Restasis online might be able to comment - that is shipped by some method or other. Does it say anything on the label (of your product) how it should be stored?
