  • MEGs in the UK

i was just about to order some MEGs from Seefit. Does anyone know if there is a supplier in the UK?

    thanks

    Hi there,
I'm sorry, I don't think that there's any MEGs supplier in Europe. But don't hesitate to order them from the USA. I got mine after 1 week, they are really quick.
So if you really want a pair of MEGs, order them directly from seefit, it's no problem.
But I'm not that pleased with my pair of MEGs. They don't protect my eyes enough (I'm still in pain in air conditioned rooms) and they look awful. The frame is much to large for my face, normally I wear small frames with narrow lenses.

I think custom moisture chamber goggles are very much better. (These goggles which SAAG wears - have a look at her blog entries - they look great!)
They look better and provide more protection (because they accomplish a complete seal). And they aren't as excepensive as the MEGs. Perhaps you can find an optician in the UK who can make custom moisturce chamber goggles for you?

I haven't find such an optician in Germany yet:-( Wish you good look!

      Size of MEG women's frames

      Hi Susie28,

thanks for your remarks on the size of the MEGs you ordered from Seefit. I am like you and have a small head and face, so often find that frames are too big for me. I currently wear WileyX Airrage and these seem to work reasonably well.

I think I should just continue in my search to find an optician to custom make them as you suggest.

Anyone else who has bought MEGs from Seefit have comments on the size of the women's frames?

Oh please let us know when you've found an optician. I'm very curious how it will work for you!

My eye doctor told me that in principle every optician can make custom moisture chamber goggles, it's no big deal. But all opticians I've asked yet don't want to do it
But I wan't give in!! You sould neither

I've always thought I had a small face, and the women's seefit's weren't too bad for me... Of course, the fit was nowhere near as good as my custom moisture chambers, but the MEG's definitely cut down on airflow enough to make them better than nothing!

I bought the MEG's with the brown moisture shields... Since there's no hiding the side shields on the MEG's, I figured it would look SO obvious that it would seem like I purposely wanted that "look"... it seemed to work as long as I wore a good outfit and had a good hair day lol ... got 1-2 compliments on them almost every shift I worked...

And then there's my Wiley's (airrage model) - they are truly the gold standard as far as wind blocking goes for me!

Hey SAAG, you're right, the MEGs are really good to repel airflow - I use them for inline skating when the weather is not good enough for my sunglasses. So they are really good for somethin.
But they are definitly not good enough for protecting my eyes from air condition or dry eye in general. They don't build a moisture chamber! I think you need a perfect fit to get an moisutre chamber. And only a moisture chamber can protect your eyes from very very dry air.
A German dry eye specialist told me that even custom moisture chamber goggles can't build a moisture chamber - you need swimming goggles or somethin like that. but I think the custom moisture chamber goggles are worth to try. I don't want to go to my office with freaky goggles

              Hi Susie28,

I have been searching very long for this kind of spectacles. Because my eye are so sensitive to the heater air, i really need something to shield my eye from any air movement.

You try and see this and let my know your opinion, since you are from Germany.

I will buy it as soon as possible

I'm also from Germany and had ordered the MEGs from Seefit last year - I tried both sizes, but neither really fit perfectly, so I returned them. As far as the transaction is concerned, it's really not a problem to order them from Germany or elsewhere, apart from the fact that Seefit isn't really a company and the owner is out of town frequently, so there might be some delay in communication. But everything went extremely well and she's very friendly and helpful
