My problem is tear film instability and inflammation, but they do not know what the cause is.

So I need the PRP drops to control my inflammation nothing else has worked so far.
tear film instability -- that suggests to me low TBUT? it could still be an indication of MGD even if your glands produce oil -- i.e., the quality or quantity of the may be subpar.

It could be a nerve issue -- i.e., you had dry eyes , then you damaged the nerves , then your dry eyes was improved -- but the nerves haven't improved yet.

If it is indeed a nerve issue, PRP should help you, also consider Prokera as well.

Yes I have an abnormally low TBUT - all the doctors I have seen have said this so on this point at least there is concordance.

I think it is partly a nerve issue as well, I'll see what they say at the Vissum Clinic.

OK, so I looked at that site you recommended jm95 and it is $300USD for 60 vials which is more like $400Cdn.. That same product in Canada at a Costco pharmacy, with a coupon from your Dr. is $100 Cdn dollars, so really you could pretty much pay for a trip here with those savings alone, especially if you can get a few refills. Be sure to ask your Dr to write the prescription so that you can get a years supply. You need a membership for Costco so not sure if that is feasible being from out of country but you can always try.

Be aware Alix that if you instill the drop carefully you can get 4 drops from one vial. I find it dispenses less if I 'blink' the drop off of the vial, especially for the second eye. I usually start with my worst eye and put in a full drop and then blink the second one off and repeat the process for the next instillation. I don't worry about caping it, I just lay it carefully on the counter where it will not be disturbed as the next time I put it in will be within 12 hours.

FYI -- for Xiidra -- I use two drops per eye (i.e., each vial gives me 4 drops). Find the with 2 drops per eye per application -- I get better results.

Thank you for the tip! I looked on the costco canada website and it looks like you need a Canadian ID card to get membership. Unfortunately I don't have one and don't know anyone Canadian who could help me out, in any case I am pretty sure the pharmacy would require the name on the prescription and on the coscto card to match.

Even if I pay full price, it is still going to be cheaper than in the US, so it's ok.

I'm thinking of buying 6 months worth initially, and then if I find they work after the 3 month mark I will go back and buy a year's worth.

I find that one full drop rolls out of my eye but maybe that is because I am quadra plugged and there is no where for it to slide away. One drop works great for me.
