    So using Hypochlorous Acid should not harm the "good bacteria that the eye produce", if I am understanding well? Also, all these eye drops containing HOCl would not be sold if they would be harmful, I guess.

    Your eyelid inflammation could be from MGD - the oil glands do extend pretty far, not just in the lash region, so if they are blocked it can cause inflammation all over the eyelid. Have you had your meibomian glands checked for blockages? Aside from warm compresses and massage, I find that Azyter/Azasite really helps to get the oil flowing, and when it starts flowing, the inflammatory signals reduce.

    Canada, you should get on Xiidra AND Restasis. Depending on which city you are in, you also have access to IPL which I highly recommend to give a try.

    Here is a list of resources/doctors across Canada: http://dryeyetoronto.com/dry-eye-specialists.html

    Yes, Erythromycin is something most ODs can prescribe. Which country are you in? Depending on the country, you might have better options. i.e., Topical Azithromycin (Azyter) is really good, but only available in EU and select Asian countries.

    farmgirl (or anyone else who knows the answer), do you know if optometrists are able to write for that topical script? Or did you get it off a doctor or ophthalmologist?

    Thanks very much farmgirl, I was beginning to think there might not be a solution.

    I was prescribed an antibiotic cream called Erythromycin Ophthalmic Ointment following a procedure on my eyes. It is preservative free and I have used it at times on my eyelids. I would not put it my eyes now as it is too old but I am not afraid to put it externally. It seems to do the trick. If I need an antibiotic drop I use Vigamox as it is also non preserved.

    Erythromycin Ophthalmic Ointment, USP, compare to N/A : Akorn - Sterile Ophthalmics ... Description: 0.5% Sterile Ophthalmic Ointment ... Preservative: None;

    Topical anti-inflammatory

    Hi,

    I have ongoing inflammation of my lower lids below the lash line. Every time I try to have it addressed I'm given drops to put IN my eyes. The listed side effects of the drops scare me and I worry they will make things worse. Does anyone know if there is a topical cream I could use on just my eyelids, one that is not a steroid and doesn't contain dangerous preservatives? And would I have to see a dermatologist for that? Any help greatly appreciated!
