  • Question for those who successfully use Xiidra :)

For those who successfully use Xiidra, did you find that you initially experienced increased eye redness, which then resolved as the drops began to work?

Thank you! I'm thinking of restarting my Xiidra but have concerns.

    Happy Holidays!

I am very interested in this question too as I hope to try XIIDRA in UK when it becomes available.

shar_63 Mine did for a short while but now are totally fine on a day to day basis. I say give it a go.

CJ L., thank you. I appreciate it. Have you experienced any ongoing side effects?

Hi Linda, any idea when it may become available?

shar_63 No side effects whatsoever. They do tend to blur vision for about five minutes but it goes away. No pain or redness or anything else alarming at all.

I had about 1.5 months of typical eye allergy symptoms with Xiidra - redness, watering, irritation, blurriness. Since then I haven't had any side effects. It still burns a bit if I use it by itself. If I use it after another drop it doesn't burn.

I also use it after putting in my usual drops (serum tears). Initially it burned a lot and my eyes were blurry for 10 mins, but now I am more used to it and it seems to burn a lot less.

My opthamologist said my DES has improved since using it. I experience fewer symtoms too (although they are still present).
