  • Night time eyedrops/ ointment?

I have had problems with using night time lubricants in the past as my eyes are extremely sensitive and everything seemed to cause irritation/ make things worse, I can tolerate Optive eye drops, however at night time these do not last long enough and I wake up with sore eyes, I feel like I need some sort of oil, if anyone has any recommendations? I have also tried goggles however these seem to cause issues I think because my tear film is 'bad' it is just keeping bad tear film on like tears which doesn't help.

What all have you tried? It sounds like you have MGD and blepharitis. One of the many things I am using is bacitracin ointment at night. I don't put it right in my eye at night but I rub it along my eyelashes really well and can tell it is in my eye. I then use genteal gel drops after waiting a while. A month ago I started doing finger prick blood drops four times a day. Not sure if it has helped but they say 8 weeks has resulted in relief for some people. So we will see.
