I just read that article too... Frustrating after the evidence seen in America. Obviously not everyone will see much of a difference, if any, but the same can be said of Ikervis / cyclosporine! At least give us the chance to try for ourselves. I wasn't holding out hope it would work for me, but I'd still like the opportunity to try.

I wonder if the EU decision also means a big no from the UK. I haven't a clue what it means for us, especially with Brexit and such. The NICE page regarding approval in UK hasn't changed yet, guess we just have to wait and see if they update it.

that -really- sucks, since xiidra is clearly more effective than cyclosporin (restasis/ikervis)

    Hello,

Prokera is available free on the NHS, though due to cost I guess it sadly is difficult to get access. I had it for my left eye but only after trying a lot of other things first (e.g. artificial tears, steroids, Ikervis, punctal plugs etc.). I think you could try asking any NHS cornea ophthalmologist about it, I had it via a hospital in West Midlands but also saw a tweet from a cornea ophthalmologist at Moorfields eye hospital in London about Prokera.

Sadly the company behind Xiidra got bought out and the license changing hands meant the approval process for the UK has been delayed... I'm waiting for it too since Ikervis doesn't seem to be doing much for me. You can follow the approval process here:

    Guest started a topic Prokera

    Prokera

Sorry as I'm sure this has been asked before.
I'm looking for somewhere in the UK/ Europe where I would be able to get Prokera.

I'm also interested if anyone has been able to get xiidra in the UK?

Or is it a case of travelling to America..

    Thanks
Working...
