  • Today's Tip: Redirect air vents

Drafts & air vents can greatly increase evaporation and should be avoided, turned off or redirected.

Many dry eye patients automatically redirect or close any vents near them because they irritate the eyes, but even if you don't feel it enough to do something about it, it can be exacerbating your dry eye in the course of the day.

If you have to have the a/c on in the car, make sure to aim it away from your face. At home or office, try to make sure any air vents are not blowing air towards you. If you can't do anything about a vent at work, get a pair of goggles or at least glasses to provide some additional protection for your eyes at least some of the time.
