  • Oral corticosteroids vs topical corticosteroids

So about a year ago, I had an allergic reaction to an antidepressant. An ER doc put me on oral prednisone for 5 days, and during those 5 days my eyes felt completely normal. It's the only time they've felt that way during the past couple of years. Topical corticosteroids have not helped me though. Does anyone know why this might be? I do not have sjogrens.

Perhaps You used different corticosteroids for oral/systemic treatment and different corticosteroids as direct/topical eye drops. Or perhaps You used different or disproportionate dose for systemic compared with topical treatment
Maybe You have systemic inflammatory disease and oral corticosteroids suppressed systemic disease and therefore helped the eyes too
