  • sigh...hair dye

so i am 39 & have never dyed my hair, & my family has been bugging me to start dying it b/c they feel Im too young to be going around with greys, yada yada.(I do have a lot of it for my age.)

Along with the fact that i hate hair hassle, I doubt dying my hair would be good for my dry eyes. Does anyone use or know of any dyes that are not as caustic or chemically? The ones my mom & aunt use would peel the skin off my eyes & nostrils.

You could try a health store that sells beauty products. Something organic maybe? The key would to be outside if you can so air is circulating

Maybe try an Aveda salon. The hair colour they use is pretty natural. I have had my hair done there and it didn't burn my eyes. I also have worked in a salon that uses a lot of chemicals. I just quit because I literally was in Soo much pain. Try going somewhere that uses natural stuff. Just a tip.. If u have never coloured your hair using a box, I wouldn't. I have worked in hair for five years and the colour they have on the box won't look the same on you depending on what colour u are.

I started going to an a more organic salon to get my hair professionally colored without a lot of chemicals. My hair looked beautiful, no grays, they used this color system:http://www.organiccolorsystems.com

I had to stop working because of my eyes. So to save money, I went to Whole Foods and bought Naturcolor:http://www.naturcolor.com. Came out looking very pretty. I did a comparison test strand first with another Whole Foods product called Naturtint: http://www.naturtintusa.com The color looked just as nice.

After awhile though, my hair didn't look as great as having it professionally done. Sucks. Box color isn't that great but the two brands I mentioned are not as toxic as the stuff you find in drug stores.

thanks guys, Ive heard of the Whole Foods brands, & also been told to try Sally's. I I actually plan on just buying the tint myself & having it done at my salon. I wouldnt dare do it myself on first try. I dont really care thay much about color as long as it looks dark brown. Im more concered about my eyes.

the only thing i will have to do myself ae the touch ups but I think my mom can help me there.
