  • About to get one of those commercial eye compresses.

    I first need to know, is it necessary for the eye compress to have any moisture or do you just need the heat?

    I'm deciding between the gel mask

    And the Thermalon Dry Eye Compress

    I want to get the gel mask because it seems way more durable and comfortable with the elastic strap. I saw a video on youtube and the person said the gel mask was great and that it retains heat for 15 minutes while the thermalon on retains heat for 5-10 minutes. The longer you do the compress the better right? I wanted to get one of these to microwave then go to bed and put them on so I would get the full 15 minute heat without wasting any of my day time since I'll be sleeping anyways.

    The Thermalon says it has heat moisture but I'm not sure about if I should get the gel mask since it wasn't built for dry eye; instead, for sinus problems so I don't think it'll have the moisture.

    Should I get the gel mask?

    I don't know but did ur Dr said to do so long ? Mine said 2 minutes once i clarified before i was doing 15 minutes he nearly had heart attack

      Ok I think I'll ask my doctor first, the doc just said 5-10 minutes and I just thought that 5-10 minutes would be enough but longer would be better. I don't like how the thermalon one looks though, it doesn't look comfortable. Has anyone had experience with the thermalon one?

        Before my doctor told me doing it multiple times a day is good. The more times I do it the better but I don't know if doing it for longer time periods is the same thing or not.
