Helen why not email him and ask him what he could percribe you? he might just mean plugs or artificial tears on percription or maybe something better. can always hope!

BTW: who is andrew matheson? does he have a weblink

The problem i have with going to optometrists is they might be able to give me a better diagnosis but its not gonna do me any good if they cant perscribe me anything i havent already tried, and most of us have already tried the plugs, artificial tears etc. coz we have had the problem for so long.

Susie: £19 for a eye drop is ridiculus!daylight robery.. guess he can though coz no where else sells it.

      Helen:

Oh forgot if you have any ideas about where we could start with being proactive in the UK. email me at elizabethwin8@hotmail.com

i will look into it abit more hopefully soon. but think its only gonna happen with the help of others due to lack of resources.

        Hi Sazy

I'll give it some thought over the next couple of weeks and drop you an e-mail. I think if there are 4 or 5 of us who want to try and get something started we should be able to divide things up between us and hopefully pick up some more people along the way.

Andrew Matheson is an optometrist based in Alresford, Hants (www.matheson-optometrists.com) who specialises in dry eye. I will ask him what more he can prescribe before I decide whether to go and see him. I doubt there's much he can offer but I just want a more accurate diagnosis than the one I'm getting from the NHS so that I have a better idea of what current and future treatment might be suitable for me.
