  • Why do I get a red vein when I drink liquids?

    Any ideas?

Whenever I drink liquid, hot or cold, with a straw, from a bottle or from a cup/glass, a large red vein on my right eye, inner corner, appears.

It stays like this for about 30 seconds to a minute and then fades, although not completely.

My mum noticed this, and with all the other things going on with my eyes it's starting to freak me out.

My right eye also gets red when I blow my nose! What is going on.

    Any ideas?

So strange - just been eating some watermelon and my eyes have gone bright red!!

I'm assuming I'm allergic to something in the watermelon. Never experienced anything like this before.

Could this be a type of ocular rosacea?

      Maybe sugar?

Could be Kate - I completely cut sugar out before everything got really bad, now that I think about it.

I was eating no sugar for about 3 weeks, no fruit, no bread, no sweets, no sugar at all. And then things went mental. So I started to incorporate natural sugars back in, slowly at first. And now I eat quite a lot of fruit.

Can the body develop an intolerance that quickly? We need a nutritionist on this board...
