Cutting onions after lasik . . .

I was just cutting some onions and noticed that my eyes were barely stinging from the onions. I was not wearing contacts, glasses or goggles.

My immediate reaction is to say that this is very bad news. I am wondering if either the lasik procedure or the subsequent dry eyes have in some way decreased corneal sensation?

Has anyone had this experience? Does the corneal sensitivity return? Does anyone have any other thoughts on this?
