I haven't been doing hot compresses/massages for a long time. But I'm noticing that my upper eye lids (esp my "bad eye", the right one) is quite swollen looking, so I think I should give them another go. I'm wondering, which is the correct order: wake up, hot compress/massage, shampoo lids or wake up, shampoo lids, hot compress/massage? I ask because I'm not sure if shampooing after expressing the oil makes sense - don't I want the expressed oil in my eyes? And wouldn't washing the lids with soap be counter-productive? But I also see how it might be a good thing to soften the gunk via compress before washing (I also suffer from blepharitis).
