  • How to get insurance to let you see an endocrinologist to diagnose tests?

I saw my GP today asked her to do blood work for the following: This was suggested on one of the forums.
    Thyroid antibodies (Thyroid Peroxidase Ab)
    Free T3
    Free T4
    TSH
    TPO
Which she did. Then I asked her if she could refer me to an endocrinologist who could read the results. That she said was much harder to get approval for because my original TSH test came out fine, so she did not think insurance would approve me seeing an endocrinologist. I told her that I could be within normal limits for the medical field, but not within normal limits for myself. She agreed, but said she did not think she could get it approved. Anyone got any suggestions about how I proceed from here?

I did get approval from my insurance to go to UCSF eye clinic. Also my ophthalmologist agreed today that I could increase my restasis from 2X daily to 4 X daily, something I read about on this forum.

Any and all help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
