when you get your sudden flare ups you should see if its b/c something thats triggering it like youre reading, using the computer or went from a warm room to a cold air conditioned room.
It might be because of the rooms I'm in. Once room might have had air conditioning. Same happens to me too. On the day time from morning to 6pm, my eyes are fine but at night they're terrible.

Still feeling the same I can still work on the computer but not for consecutive days. For example, after 5 days of break from computer on school, friday night eyes are fine. Saturday morning to evening, they get worse. Terrible at saturday night. Good sunday morning and worse but not terrible sunday night. I also have this weird symptom. Sometimes my eyes are fine during school. Then out of now where for like an hour or 2 my eyes flare up really dry. Then next hour it starts to feel fine again. Are random flare ups common?

I have upper and lower plugs, Restasis; but since I work on the computer 8 hr a day in the office, the only thing that helps is Moisture chamber, they are funny looking but they do help. I also have an ultrasonic humidifier in the office. You have to try different things and see which works best for you! Good luck to all
How do the plugs work for you? Do they help a lot or just a little?

I have a question, do your eyes also hurt when youre near an air conditioner, fan or in a very cold room?
Yeah my eyes do get worse near an air conditioner and during windy days, my eyes get dry fast. I also had to cut back on computer too. If you have to do eye drops every hour I think you shouldn't use it anymore. I'm starting to do eye compresses with this http://www.amazon.com/Thermalon-2434...ords=thermalon so far day 2 and I think it's working good only used drops once today. I'll see how it goes in a couple of days.

Hey, I went to the doctor and I found out the problem. I think I have Blepharitis. The doctor said my pores are clogged up so there's no oil in my eyes so when I use drops or yawn to get tears, the tears evaporate really quick and don't stay in my eyes. I do notice this happening more now. When I use drops, they feel fine for a few minutes and back to dry. I read Blepharitis is not curable. Why is it not curable, once I do warm compresses it opens up my pores again right? Why would it just clog up again by itself once I stop treating it. I hate myself right now. I have to do all this stupid stuff every day like put drops 4 times again, wash my eye lids with baby shampoo and water and put warm compresses on my eyes 3 times a day. All this annoying stuff to just treat my eyes; not even cure it. I have to do all this crap for the rest of my life.

How do I find out which layer it is and how do I know if the problem is decreased tear production or if the problem is that my eyes don't produce quality tears? What kind of questions should I ask my doctor? I'm going again tomorrow and I want to create a list to ask the doctor.

I'm looking to get one later this week. Is there anyway to increase tear production?

Kinda depends on what you got. If you got a diagnosis, let us know, and you might get some suggestions specific to that.

It's been a while and I'm still experiencing the same problems. I do see that some people on this forum are having excessive tearing which doesn't seem that bad to me because everytime I yawn and tears come out it feels so good, my vision restores for a few seconds after yawning. Then like a minute later, it's back to normal so I always try to yawn. Does this open up any more suggestions for me?
