  • helping light sensitivity and drug reactions to flowmax

Like many on DEZ, I am a keratoconus (keratoglobus) patient. I had incredible light sensitivity for years. Sometiimes I had to use one hand to hold open one eye while driving to work in the morning. Then I discovered Alway antihistimine eye drops. It does not cure the problem, but it was an incredible improvement. My ophthalmologist has recommended it to other keratoconus patients and it has helped them too.

For you middle aged men who take flowmax, I had a reaction to it where my throat and eyes became incredibly dry at night, and also painful. I the throat would feel fine after a sip of water, but would be awakened 30 minutes later with the same problem. The eyes remained drier than usual. No problem during the day. I had just had my flowmax increased from one a day to two. I stopped the flowmax entirely as an experiment. The problem went away. Then I went back on the minimum dosage of flowmax and was OK.
