Hi, Everyone.
Season's greetings to all.
I was glad to see the following acknowledgment of our condition in this NYTimes article from today's Health section:
"Poor vision can lead to job loss, social difficulties and the pain and cost of falls and accidents."
And, that's not to mention pretty good vision and painful eyes!
The above article is linked to another, "Skipping Eye Exams Is Common Despite Fear of Losing Vision."
"'Fear and depression are common impediments for those at risk of vision loss,' said Dr. Bruce Rosenthal, low-vision specialist at Lighthouse."
The two quotes I cited stand out to me, because they show the incredible impact that our eyes have on our quality of life (or lack thereof).
Of course, we DEZ folks usually welcome any contact with eye doctors for exams and information!
I wish everyone a good (and moist!) 2011!
