After a sudden flare up after 6 relatively incident free years, i was at a total loss as to what was happening. I found Jim Brennan via Google and he works at Concept Eye Clinic in Gosforth near Newcastle. He was excellent, very knowledgeable and understanding. He took photos of my eyes and within minutes had diagnosed blepharitis, showing me the evidence on a big screen. This was a massive relief as I thought it was a relapse associated with my laser surgery 8 years ago. Anyway, the lid hygiene seems to be working well and the symptoms have diminished significantly.
The main thing is that there is someone in the North of England who is knowledgeable and able to deal with dry eye issues. He also does punctal plugs but almost immediately told me that I had good tear production and film so did not need them.
