In October 2009, while having a mole removed under my left eye, some "Zephrine" (a skin cleanser) got in my eye while it was closed. I told the nurse right away, she didn't seem too concerned,just dabbed my eye. (My surgeon wasn't in the room,he said he would have done an eye wash.) That night every time I blinked,it hurt. I saw my optometrist the next day, she couldn't find anything wrong. She gave me Elestat ,Sterlild and Systane drops. Two weeks later I saw my ophthalmologist, she couldn't find the cause of the pain either. You guessed it, more drops to try.(Alrex,Bepreve). After two more visits, I saw another ophthalmologist who came highly recommended by numerous people. She had me try Tobradex and eurythromycin and hot compresses 2X a day. It's only 50% better. I feel so frustrated!!! Some days I cry from the chronic pain. It hurts on the white part of my eye on the inside corner and in my upper eyelid.
