I was treated for Graves Disease almost 20 years ago; my eyes were bulged out; and I did have surgery (in fact, many surgeries) but the damage to eyelids has been irreversible. I put ointment in my eyes every night; and patch one eye closed (using Coverlet eye occlusors). The other eye, I do not patch; so I can still see if I wake up in the middle of the night...instead, I wear a sleepmask too; but my eyes are still dry in the morning.
I still get upset that I can't even take a catnap... it freaks out my kids because they say it looks like my eyes are still open... and without taping them shut, I wake up to tears rolling down my face. And when I walk outside, day or night, tears just run down my face; seems that the air just dries my eyes.
I didn't know this website even existed until today; found it by accident when I was looking for better solutions to night time dry eyes.
