Hi, I rejoined to give an update.
(old lost account was tempestuous.)
I was recently prescribed some medication for an unrelated condition and within a couple of days my pain levels had changed significantly.
As the medication could also be used to treat nerve pain, this led to the diagnosis of undiagnosed and untreated nerve pain for the last 17 years.
I still experience the same sensations but the associated levels of pain are down significantly.
I have now started receiving allogenic serum (autologous serum unsuitable).
On the whole it seems that I am now able to get a good 6-8 hours sleep most nights before occasionally waking in say bee-sting level of pain compared to the last 17 years of up to 3 hours sleep then pain like trying to walk on a broken leg.
So, if you find yourself in significant pain that regular painkillers can't touch, ask to explore nerve painkillers. Alternatively, if your eye specialist has access to a confocal microscope he should be able to detect the nerve damage and take appropriate action.
Good luck.
