  • Multiple suggestions for Bleph and MGD sufferers

Hi. I'm new to site. Have had problems with MGD and bleph off and on for years. Having flare up now, but these are things I have done in past to get under control.

    - Eyes so sensitive that when doing lib scrub I find Califorinia Baby
shampoo for super sensitive much better than Johnsons.

    - Be very careful with what you wash face with. Your eyes may be so
irritated you don't even realize the cleanser you are using making things
worse. I also use this CA baby shampoo to wash face. They sell at
    Whole Foods.

    - If you have rosacea skin symptoms too, try Rosacea, Ltd product, which
can be ordered through web site. It also treats Seborrea/Derm issues.
Once face cleared up, eyes tend to get better too.

    - Get dermatolologist to prescribe Nizoral, which is dandruff shampoo with
Ketakonazole. Dandruff/Seborreah often tied in with Bleph and MGD.
Need to get face and scalp under control. Be sure to put on eyebrows.

    - Once when had bad flare up doc prescribed Metronidazole drops and they
worked for years, but unfortunately don't any longer. Dr. Steve
Plugfelder (now at Baylor) great opthamologist and he prescribed.

    - I think there may be something to taking NAC. I had stopped taking it
once eyes cleared up years ago, but have just started up again.

    - Excercise, especially running, always makes eyes feel better.

    - Do not hesitate to seek therapy and go on anti-d's if you are seriously
depressed because of your eye issues. The anxiety this causes makes
your condition worse. I am convinced it's easier to get under control
when not obsessing about and believe me, I understand how one can
    obsess.

Hope some of these ideas help!
