Hi Everyone,
Just found this Web Site and there is so much info here I am in overload and my eyes are screaming at me "Go to bed, go to bed!" It is almost midnight my time so I will be brief in my introduction.
I have Sjogrens Disease a Syndrome of Rheumatoid arthritis which I have had for almost 35 years. My eyes have only begun to be really dry the past year. I also have dry skin and vaginal dryness.
I've been told to use drops for a long time but would do so only if they felt dry and that is a no no because the retina can be dry w/o you noticing too much dryness.
Last summer (2007) I began to have a lot of floaters and one night on the computer I saw what looked like fish eggs so called the Opthalmologist in the morning and he had me come right in. My R eye was in traction or in other words the retina was trying to tear loose. Well, believe you me, after that episode I have faithfully dropped all day.
For what reason I don't know, the past month has been awful. Dr. suggested Restasis which I started 3 weeks ago and also she suggested I use a salve at night. My eyes feel much better from that. (the salve, I mean.) Now after a bit of reading at the Dry Eye Site I don't know if that is very wise. I think I am going to order Dwelle after a bit more research. Then I may have to try the Kit. Please forgive me if I sound like I don't know what I'm talking about with mispellings of the products etc as this is all new to me as of a couple hours ago.
With that bit of intro I am going to go to bed but would love to chat with you guys anytime and or blog or post or whatever.
