Hello everyone,
My name is Svenja, I'm 27 years young, live in Limburg in the Netherlands and I was diagnosed with Meibomian Gland Dysfunction by my eye specialist.
From what I read here I was lucky to find someone who actually knew how to recognize the symptoms. It feels good to know what I have, the fact that there's no cure is a bit unfortunate though...
The things she told me to do are the same things which are named here, I hope to find here that in the long row, it will actually work...
She told me my glands do still work, but only for a very little bit... maybe 5%, which is why I have daily 'burn' attacks. Sometimes even more that. I've kept it under control with lense fluids, but she rather had me use Oculotect, which is a solution with 50mg polyvidon. Which is only to keep my eyes wet... She hopes the omega3 capsules will help my eyes in the long row, but it hasn't changed much if you ask me. But then again I only started using everything just a month ago.
More things about me... I'm an advisor in insurances, not only for cars and stuff, but I started at a health insurance company, so I do know a bit about what's possible over here, just in case anyone would want to know.
And last but not least... I'm very happy top have found this forum! This is really a great place to find people who don't think you're crying all day....
Greetings,
Svenja
